The national political conventions are now over, and both Republicans and Democrats are fired up about the race between incumbent President Donald Trump and former vice president Joe Biden.
The Republican National Convention ended Thursday, and Lyon County Republican party chair Peggy Mast went to Hutchinson to watch the final night as it developed. Mast was planning to go to Charlotte before coronavirus changed the picture. She tells KVOE News the Hutchinson event was a good way for Kansas Republicans to get together.
Mast says Trump has struck a nerve with Republicans because of his unconventional, “bombastic” approach to the job.
Democrats ended their convention Aug. 20.
Mast says Emporia is among a host of locations that will have a visit from the “Trump Trailer.” That event will be Sept. 12. Further details, including location, are pending.
