One-time Emporian and longtime rodeo pickup man Rex Bugbee died earlier this week.
Bugbee died after a rodeo accident in Guymon, Oklahoma, last week. Bugbee suffered serious injuries after colliding with a fellow pickup man on Aug. 20 and died Tuesday in Lubbock, Texas. He was 65.
Bugbee was born in 1954. He had been working for Frontier Ranch Company since 2005 and had served as a pickup man at numerous well-known national rodeo events through the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association.
Bugbee’s survived by his wife, two sons and two grandchildren. Funeral arrangements have not been announced.
