A situation involving potential COVID-19 exposure inside a Eureka drinking establishment last week is becoming more serious than originally thought.
Early Friday, Greenwood County Health issued a request for residents who may have patronized Benny’s Westside bar between 5 and 10 pm on Aug. 21 to quarantine due to a positive COVID-19 patient having visited the bar during that specified time period. Now, the specified time period has increased significantly as the health department reports multiple positive patients reportedly visited the bar between Aug. 15 and Aug. 22.
Any individuals who may have patronized the bar between those days is being asked to self quarantine for the next 14 days due to potentially coming into contact with COVID positive patients. Residents are asked to monitor for COVID-19 symptoms and contact their primary care physician if they develop any of the following symptoms.
*Fever of 100.4F or higher
*Chills
*Rigors
*Muscle pain or aches
*Malaise
*Headache
*Sore throat
*Cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
