There’s a change at the top for Coffey Health System.
Jeremy Clingenpeel has been named as the hospital’s new chief executive officer effective Sept. 28. He replaces Leonard Hernandez, who resigned to become president and CEO at Susan B Allen Hospital in El Dorado.
Clingenpeel has 17 years of healthcare administration experience in places like Satanta, Syracuse and Tribune in Kansas as well as time in Oklahoma. Clingenpeel’s experience is in places similar to Coffey Health System: critical access hospitals with long-term care facilities and physician clinics.
Clingenpeel has a master’s degree in health care administration from Oklahoma State University, a bachelor’s in business administration from Oklahoma and an associate’s degree in business administration from Northern Oklahoma College.
Hernandez was credited for making Coffey Health System financially stable and reversing a $4.5 million deficit as well as the hospital earning national accreditation and several awards during his five years at the helm.
