Area counties are reporting increases in coronavirus cases since Friday.
*Chase County had 11 new cases over the weekend, moving the total from 65 to 76. The number of active cases increased from 15 to 18.
*Coffey County is now at 81 cases after two new cases since Friday. There are seven active cases, reflecting the new cases and one recovery.
*Greenwood County added three new cases over the weekend. It now has 34 total cases, nine of which are active. The Greenwood County Health Department is now asking people who went to Casey’s General Store in Eureka from 4 pm to midnight both Friday and Saturday to self-quarantine after a potential exposure. This follows a request by the Greenwood County Health Department for people patronizing Benny’s Westside to self-quarantine if they attended the bar between Aug. 15-22, again for potential exposure.*Morris County had four new cases over the weekend. It now has 22 total cases, five of which are active.
*Osage County is now at 63 total cases, up three from Friday. The number of active cases dropped from nine to eight.
*Wabaunsee County is the only area county to remain flat with its numbers. It has 51 total cases with nine active.
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment is reporting 1,564 new COVID-19 cases statewide since Friday. The number of total cases now stands at 41,612.
Three new deaths were also reported, bringing the state death count to 446.
