The Emporia High girls golf team tees it up for the first time Tuesday. They will be hosting a tournament at the Emporia Golf Course. Play is scheduled to begin at 3pm.
This years Emporia High team has 2 players that return from last years state qualifying team, sophomores Avary and Olivia Eckert. Avary also won the Emporia Womens City golf championship this summer and hopes to build off that championship.
Olivia is hoping her offseason work will payoff.
Coach Rick Eckert says this is a team that could show a lot of improvement during the season.
The team also includes 3 freshmen Lacy Rust, Nicole Dalton and Ella Fessler. Junior Faith Welborn is the 6th member of the team.
