Lyon County Public Health is reporting 15 new coronavirus cases Friday in its daily COVID-19 update.
The total number of cases now stands at 98, one of the highest totals in recent months. Public Health’s online dashboard has the active caseload reaching 100 on Aug. 30. The last time before that was May 10, when the active caseload was 114. The total number of cases now stands at 913.
Total recoveries is at 795 with four new recoveries listed in Friday’s update. The number of deaths remains steady from Thursday at 19 with 15 cases pending death certificate information from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
For clusters:
Private Industry: 2 active clusters, 156 total cases, 8 active cases, 1 death
Long Term Care: 1 active cluster, 154 total cases, 10 active cases, 12 deaths (Plus 13 pending death certificates from KDHE)
Colleges and Universities: 1 active cluster, 23 total cases, 22 active cases, 0 deaths. Emporia State is not announcing its cluster total, but it’s reporting 35 total confirmed cases with three students now in on-campus isolation and one in on-campus quarantine. At Flint Hills Technical College, there are no active cases and nobody quarantined. The college has reported three confirmed cases to date.
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment is reporting 1,280 new COVID-19 cases since Wednesday with 23 new deaths. The total number of cases in Kansas is now at 45,220 with a total of 481 deaths.
