Lyon County Public Health was expecting an increase in coronavirus cases through the Labor Day weekend, and that’s what it reported late Tuesday afternoon.
Public Health reported 32 new cases to send the total from 913 to 945. The number of active cases went from 98 to 112, the highest Lyon County has seen since 114 on May 10. Nineteen people have died due to the virus, with 15 deaths awaiting final cause of death classification from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
The number of active clusters remains at four.
*Private Industry: 2 active clusters, 158 total cases, 9 active cases, 1 death
*Long Term Care: 1 active cluster, 155 total cases, 10 active cases, 12 deaths (Plus 13 pending death certificates from KDHE)
*Colleges and Universities: 1 active cluster, 36 total cases, 33 active cases, 0 deaths
