Discussions on the future of Emporia’s mask ordinance will be one of many talking points for Emporia City Commissioners Wednesday morning.
The ordinance, in place since mid-August, is set to expire Sept. 16. Commissioners will review the ordinance and discuss whether or not to extend the ordinance past the deadline. Commissioners will also receive an update on SPARK/CARES Act funding from Lyon County set to support a number of local COVID-19 related projects.
Discussions on the city’s water meter ordinance, its contract with the Regional Development Association of East Central Kansas and conversations on flooding from summer 2019 are also planned. The meeting begins at 10 am inside the Municipal Courtroom at White Auditorium.
