Lyon County Public Health reported six new cases and 30 recoveries in its daily COVID-19 update Wednesday.
The active case number has dropped significantly from 112 to 88. The total case number now stands at 951 with a total of 843 recoveries.
The number of deaths remains at 19 with 16 deaths awaiting final cause of death classification from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
The active cluster count also remains steady at four.
Private Industry: 1 active cluster, 158 total cases, 6 active cases, 1 death
Long Term Care: 1 active cluster, 158 total cases, 8 active cases, 12 deaths (Plus 14 pending death certificates from KDHE)
Colleges and Universities: 1 active cluster, 38 total cases, 30 active cases, 0 deaths.
Unlike KDHE, which began announcing cluster sites Wednesday, Lyon County Public Health is continuing its longstanding approach of naming cluster categories.
Elsewhere in the KVOE listening area:
*Chase County is at 81 cases overall, with 59 of those coming from the Detention Center. There are five active cases, all at the Detention Center. There is one so-called community death.
*Coffey County reported seven new cases Wednesday with a total of 97 cases, 10 active cases and eight deaths.
*Greenwood County had one new case reported Wednesday with a total of 45 cases and 13 active cases.
*Morris County added two new cases and is now at 25. Both new cases are the only active cases for the county.
*Osage County has two new cases for 73 total. There are eight active cases at this time.
*Wabaunsee County remains at 57 total cases with nine active.
