A major announcement was recently made regarding one of Emporia’s major veteran-centric activities for this year.
All Veterans Tribute Golf Tournament organizer Jesse Sollis joined KVOE’s morning show Friday to announce that due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s tournament will not be taking place.
According to Sollis, the tournament helps to generate between four to five thousand dollars each year for a number of Veteran’s associations. This includes both Veteran’s of Foreign Wars Posts in Emporia, The American Legion and the Mexican American Veterans Memorial group just to name a few.
While the cancellation is another unfortunate loss for the community calendar, Sollis stated local sponsors can still expect to see him knocking on their doors for next year’s event.
