The Kansas Jayhawks fell behind early and would never catch up in a season opening 38-23 loss to Coastal Carolina.
The Jayhawks trailed 28-0 before a fieldgoal cut the deficit to 28-3 at halftime. Kansas tried to rally scoring two touchdowns in the 3rd quarter and trailed 28-17 going to the 4th quarter.
Coastal Carolina put the game out of reach with a touchdown and fieldgoal in the final 10 minutes.
The Jayhawks will next play September 26th when they open Big-12 play against Baylor.
