It isn’t a big leak and it isn’t a big water main involved, but the leak is having a decent-sized impact on traffic for part of West Sixth Avenue.
Emporia Public Works says a small leak developed on a 4-inch line under Sixth between Elm and Arundel. Initial excavation took place by early Wednesday afternoon, but the work zone has constricted traffic to one lane for both eastbound and westbound vehicles.
Public Works says it could be Friday before traffic returns to normal.
