Lyon County Public Health is reporting a small increase in the number of coronavirus cases.
Public Health reported five new cases Friday and a total of 1,012 cases since late March. Unfortunately, six deaths were added, pushing the total from 21 to 27. Public Health says the increase reflects the reduction in the number of deaths awaiting final cause from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. The overall number in that category is now 9.
The number of active cases went from 76 Thursday to 75 Friday.
The number of clusters remains the same:
*Long Term Care: 1 active cluster, 160 total cases, 8 active cases, 19 deaths (Plus 8 pending death certificates from KDHE)
*Colleges and Universities: 1 active cluster, 55 total cases, 23 active cases
*Schools: 1 active cluster, 5 total cases, 4 active cases
Areawide:
*Greenwood County added one case to go to 47. The new case announced Friday is the only active case for the county.
