It was all Kapaun Mt. Carmel as the Crusaders cruised to a 56-13 win over the Emporia High football team Thursday night.
After scoring on their 3rd play of the game, Kapaun took advantage of 3 straight turnovers in the first quarter to build a 35-0 lead after the first 12 minutes. Emporia High trailed at halftime 49-0. Emporia High avoided the shutout with a touchdown In the 3rd quarter. Cam Geitz connected with Charles Snyder for a 45 yard touchdown pass.
Camden Kirmer also added 55 yard touchdown run late in the game.
With the loss the Spartans fall to 1-2 they will play Highland Park in Topeka next Friday.
The Topeka School board voted Thursday night to allow Highland Park, Topeka High and Topeka West to begin their football seasons.
