USD 417 Morris County has had a successful start to their school year, with COVID-19 mitigation efforts in full effect.
With 85% of the district’s students attending class face-to-face, procedures have been put in place to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 from the moment students step on the bus in the morning.
USD 417 Superintendent Aron Dody sat down with KVOE on this past Thursdays Newsmaker 2 to talk about some of those procedures.
Like Emporia State University, Flint Hills Technical College and USD 253 Emporia, Morris County has developed a tracking dashboard that’s online at www.usd417.org. Dody discussed how the few positive cases that have been identified and how they were handled.
Changes have also been set for transportation, namely loading and unloading of buses. Dody says buses are loaded back-to-front and then unloaded in reverse order to avoid any crossover issues. Meals are also brought to classrooms for breakfast and lunch.
