The Kansas State High School Activities Association has released the updated classifications for the 2020-21 school year.
Emporia High remains a 5A school by 125 students. Emporia High has 1236 students in grades 9 thru 12. That makes them the 3rd largest 5A school behind Mill Valley and Leavenworth.
Mill Valley moved down to 5A. Wichita Northwest moves up to 6A.
Kansas City Piper moves up to 5A and McPherson moves down to 4A.
No area schools change classification.

Olpe, Hartford, Lebo, Waverly, Madison, Hamilton, Marais des Cygnes Valley, Burlingame and Southern Coffey County.
2A
Northern Heights, Chase County, Lyndon and Mission Valley.
3A
Burlington, Osage City, Council Grove and Eureka.
