The Lebo Wolves continued their winning ways with a 60-14 victory over the Hartford Jaguars Friday night.
The Wolves controlled the pace throughout the first quarter scoring 30 unanswered points before Hartford would score on a 53-yard touchdown pass from sophomore quarterback Ali Smith to senior Tanner Highley. Lebo would add one more touchdown to take a 36-8 lead into halftime.
In the second half Lebo would outscore Hartford 16 to six to close out the game early in the fourth quarter. Lebo was led offensively by senior quarterback Devan McEwen with five touchdowns, one rushing and four passing, and 289 yards of total offense.
With some key players out Friday due to injury, McEwen says their team’s younger members stepped up in a big way.
Lebo Head Coach Bryan Hadley says getting his younger players some varsity minutes will be a major benefit as the season goes on.
Smith led Hartford with 180 yards of total offense. With the victory, Lebo advances to 4-0 on the season and begins district play 1-0. Hartford now drops to 1-3 and opens district play 0-1.
