The deadline is quickly approaching to register for the latest golf tournament in the Emporia community.
Mulligan for Main Street, the latest benefit tournament, will be taking place Saturday at the Emporia Country Club. According to organizer Chad Buchholz, a recent guest of KVOE’s Talk of Emporia, the tournament will be a nine-hole four-person scramble with teams of two being paired together.
Buchholz says the event is the perfect activity for social distancing with all proceeds going to benefit the work of Emporia Main Street. In addition to getting out and enjoying the fresh air and interaction with others, all participants have the chance to walk away a winner as Buchholz says each hole will have a $50 prize up for grabs.
Emporia Main Street Events Coordinator Jessica Buchholz says those prizes have all been donated by local businesses within the Emporia community.
The deadline to apply for the tournament is 5 pm Tuesday. The cost to participate is $100 per team — $50 per person– which covers the entry fee and the cost of lunch.
The tournament begins Saturday at noon. To register visit Emporiamainstreet.com or call 340-6430.
