With five weeks to go before the general election, political appearances will likely stack up in and around Emporia.
Congressman Roger Marshall will stop in Emporia on Oct. 6 as part of the “Keep Kansas Great Bus Tour.” Marshall will be at the Lyon County Fairgrounds from 11-11:45 am and will be joined by former governor Jeff Colyer, Kansas Senate Vice President and 17th District Senator Jeff Longbine of Emporia and Kansas Secretary of State Scott Schwab.
Marshall is locked in a bitter race for US Senate with Democrat Barbara Bollier. The winner takes over the seat being vacated when Pat Roberts retires at the end of the year.
