An Emporia truck driver was hospitalized after a crash in Anderson County on Tuesday.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says the crash happened shortly before 9 am. 59-year-old Randy Shown was eastbound on Southwest 1000 Road just east of Welda and moved to the right for oncoming traffic, but the semi trailer dropped a set of tires off the edge of the road. Shown went into a ditch to avoid overturning the semi and trailer, but the truck did tip over and the load went into a field. The semi and trailer stopped on top of a barbed wire fence.
Shown was taken to Anderson County Hospital with possible injuries. He was wearing his seatbelt.
