With the annual Medicare Part D open enrollment period set to begin later this month, the Lyon County Extension Office is offering free counseling to help beneficiaries navigate their policies.
Beginning Oct. 15 Medicare beneficiaries can review their policies through early December to make any necessary changes to improve their coverage. A thorough review of one’s policy can lead to reductions in co-pay, out of pocket costs and can help beneficiaries find a policy that covers any and all medication needs.
As this process can be overwhelming at times, certified Senior Health Insurance Counselors for Kansas (SHICK) are available throughout this time to answer any questions and review your policy with you. The Lyon County Extension Office will have three SHICK Counselors available for appointments throughout the enrollment period.
However, those appointments will look slightly different this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. According to a news release from the Extension Office, appointments will be available in one of three ways either in-person by appointment, over the phone or through Zoom.
To schedule an appointment with a SHICK Counselor call the Lyon County Extension Office at 620-341-3220. For more information visit lyon.ksu.edu/medicare.
