The Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce Government Matters Committee and the Emporia League of Women Voters have announced a Candidate Forum for the general election Nov. 3.
The forum is Oct. 13 from 6-7:30 pm. The 90-minute event will give candidates for Lyon County’s contested races 30 minutes to speak to the issues impacting their respective races:
*6 pm: Lyon County Commission Second District candidates Democrat Ron McCoy and Republican Doug Peck
*6:30 pm: Kansas House 60th District candidates Democrat Todd Maddox and Republican Mark Schreiber
*7 pm: Kansas Senate 17th District candidates Republican Jeff Longbine and Democrat Steve Vecchione
The event will be at the Trusler Business Center, 719 Commercial, but will also be on the Chamber’s Facebook Live. Residents with questions can email chamber@emporiakschamber.org before the forum, call the Chamber office at 620-342-1600 or submit queries during the event through Facebook.
