Lyon County begins the week with a slight rise in new COVID-19 cases and a drop in active cases.
Public Health reported six new COVID-19 cases in its daily update Monday. With eight recoveries the active case number has dropped from 54 to 52. The total number of cases is now at 1,098 with 1,010 total recoveries.
There is one active cluster in colleges and universities. That cluster involves 62 total cases, only three of which are active.
The number of deaths remains steady at 35. The number of deaths awaiting final cause information from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment remains at 3.
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment announced 1,597 new cases and eight new deaths Monday. The statewide total now stands at 62,708 cases with 706 deaths.
