USD 252 Southern Lyon County has its first coronavirus case.
Superintendent Mike Argabright says the confirmed patient is a staffer at Neosho Rapids Elementary. Seven other staffers at the school were told to quarantine last week as were 20 students. Two other students at Hartford Junior-Senior High were told to quarantine as well.
So far, there are no quarantines at Olpe. Before the announcement, the district had 19 students and four staffers needing quarantine since the pandemic started in March.
No classes or buildings are being closed. Argabright says the quarantines have likely isolated the infections, but the district will take additional measures if needed.
