Lyon County Public Health noted another increase in new cases and active cases Wednesday.
Public Health reported nine new cases and seven recovered patients, pushing the active caseload to 55 and the overall caseload since March to 1,115. The number of deaths remains at 36 and the number of deaths awaiting final cause from Kansas Department of Health and Environment remains at four.

USD 251 North Lyon County says a second staffer at Northern Heights has contracted coronavirus. The district continues contact tracing, which started after the other staffer developed COVID-19 as announced Monday. USD 251 is keeping Northern Heights open, but it is also disinfecting the affected areas Wednesday evening.
Elsewhere across the KVOE listening area:
*Greenwood County added two cases and now has 56 since March. Six cases are now active.
*Osage County remained at 113 total cases since March and seven active cases.
