Emporia State is the first Division II university to partner with the College Football Playoff Foundation’s Go Teach program.
ESU’s Teachers College and athletics program are involved. The goal of Go Teach is to give both academic and athletic departments a way to help with marketing and recruiting the teaching profession to athletes, especially given the current teacher shortage which may well continue for several years.
ESU has 53 athletes representing 13 of the 15 intercollegiate programs enrolled as education majors.
