There’s still time for you to submit your address and be involved in KVOE’s annual Drive for Food to benefit the Salvation Army food pantry, but that time is running short.
Salvation Army Major Deb Thompson says there is an across-the-board need for food, but evaporated milk, breakfast items, canned meals and ramen noodles are especially low.
Thompson says recent traffic has been steady, but the Salvation Army is serving larger families than before as well as residents who didn’t need services the past several years, all due to the impact of COVID-19.
The drive is Thursday. KVOE staff and volunteers will start collecting items from homes, apartments, businesses and schools around 9:30 am. If you would rather drop off items, there are several locations to do so:
*Bluestem Farm & Ranch Supply – 2611 W. Hwy 50
*LCAT – 402 Commercial
*Newman Regional Health (Outside Entrance C or Entrance F)
*Country Mart – 1020 Merchant
*Good’s Cash Saver – 2703 W. Hwy 50
*ESB Financial – 8th & Merchant or 12th & Industrial
*Designs by Sharon – 703 Commercial
*ValuNet – 2914 W. Highway 50
*Do-B’s – 704 E. 12th Ave.
