Do you like eating tacos? Do you like supporting great charitable causes? Well, you’re in luck because thanks to the United Way of the Flint Hills you have the chance to do both.
The United Way has announced its newest fundraising effort the “Tastiest Taco” event. United Way Director Mickey Edwards says the friendly competition will see local restaurants put forth their most delectable taco creation for the community to judge.
Edwards says the new event accomplishes two major goals as it both supports the annual fundraising drive while also bringing much-needed attention to local restaurants.
The competition will run from Oct. 23 through Nov. 7 giving local “taco experts” plenty of time to sample all offerings from the local community. To participate, community members need to purchase a passport to tacos which is good for one taco at each establishment. After sampling each restaurant’s offering the community will then submit their vote for the tastiest taco in the Flint Hills with the winner to be announced Nov. 11.
For more information or to purchase a passport visit the United Way office at 702 Commerical or stop by one of the participating restaurants.
