Emporia Fire had a busy overnight with a structure fire and grass fire between midnight and 5 am Wednesday.
Battalion Chief Tony Fuller says the structure fire at 1302 East Sixth Lot 38 came first around 1:45 am. Fire was discovered under the trailer at that address and was put out quickly. No injuries were reported. The cause is under investigation.
Shortly before 5 am, firefighters went to the 1300 block of Road E southwest of Emporia for a small grass fire. Fuller says the fire burned about 10 acres before firefighters got it out. The cause is to be determined. No injuries or additional damage was reported.
