Lyon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help in finding the person who stole a powered saw from an Emporia business this week.
Crime Stoppers says the crime happened just after noon Tuesday at Bluestem Farm and Ranch when a man walked out with a Stihl TD420 Cutquick saw. Video screenshots released by Crime Stoppers indicate the suspect is a white male with a short-sleeved white button-down shirt, blue jeans, a trucker-style baseball cap with a dark front and tan sides and brown work boots. He was driving a larger-sized white Chevrolet SUV.
Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of this person. It is also still offering a reward of up to $1,000 after the Short Stop convenience store in the 1800 block of Merchant was robbed, possibly at gunpoint, on Aug. 12. Authorities have been looking for a slightly-built white female and a second person, albeit with no description, since that incident.
If you have information on either case, call Emporia Police at 343-4200 or Lyon County Crime Stoppers at 342-2273. You can also use the P3Tips mobile app or www.p3tips.com.
