It was a rough day for the Emporia High volleyball team at the Emporia Invitational Saturday. The Lady Spartans were defeated by both Maize and Leavenworth.
Maize defeated Emporia High 25-14 and 25-16.
The match with Leavenworth went 3 sets. Leavenworth won the first set 27-25. Emporia High won the 2nd set 25-16. Leavenworth won the 3rd set 25-22.
Emporia High Coach Ashley Nehls said they did not play with confidence.
The tournament was the final tune up for next weeks sub-state tournament.
