Emporia State University held a news conference Monday morning to talk about hosting the 2024 and 2026 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Emporia State president Allison Garrett said they are proud to be hosting the Championships.
Emporia State Athletic Director Kent Weiser says the timing is perfect for hosting the Championships.
Emporia City Commissioner and Vice-Mayor Rob Gilligan said community involvement will make the Championships extra special.
Emporia State Head Track and Field Coach Steve Blocker says he is excited and honored to be selected to host the Championships.
This will be the 5th and 6th time Emporia State has hosted the National Track and Field Championships, hosting in 1996, 1999 and 2006.
