Two Lyon County fire departments and one from Osage County briefly battled a fire at Reading Elevator on Tuesday.
Firefighters from Reading, Miller and Osage City responded around 8:40 am along with the elevator operator. Firefighters got the fire out quickly and spent additional time checking for hot spots.
Damage was limited to two belts, meaning little to no damage to equipment or grain. In fact, trucks were offloading freight by Tuesday evening.
