Corby Milleson’s coaching contract has been terminated effective immediately.
With two abstentions, the Emporia Board of Education voted 5-0 to end Milleson’s contract as Emporia High’s football coach, although the contract remains intact for his position as a physical education and business teacher. Mike Crouch and Leslie Seeley recused themselves at the start of the executive session, citing conflict of interest. Board members are not commenting, citing board policy not to speak on personnel matters.
Emporia High Athletic Director Curtis Simons is unable to comment on personnel matters.
Coach Milleson also declined the opportunity to make a statement.
Keaton Tuttle, the offensive line coach, has been named the interim Head Coach.
Coach Milleson became the Spartans’ head coach in 2014. Emporia High is 2-5 this season and plays at Manhattan on Friday.
