Emporia State University will be holding its first play of the year, Medea, with a bit of a twist due to COVID-19.
The show is set to take place on the quad outside of the Memorial Union at Emporia State on Friday, October 30 and Saturday, October 31. The show will start at 5 p.m. both days and has a runtime of 80 minutes with no intermission.
ESU theatre professor Pete Rydberg joined KVOE’s morning show to set the stage for the show and give a brief description for those who may not know what Madea is about.
There is limited seating provided that will be safely socially distanced and will be filled on a first come first serve basis. Though Rydberg says if the seats are filled any further attendants are welcome to stand or bring their own seating, as the sound system should allow coverage past their set seating.
For those who may have mobility issues, the Theatre Department is offering special parking. To be placed on the list to receive special parking please call 620-341-5256 or email Pete Rydberg at prydberg@emporia.edu.
