An Emporia man initially accused of rape, kidnapping, strangulation and other counts late last year and early this year will go to prison after reaching a plea agreement.
Gregory Thomas Goad was originally charged with 30 counts after alleged illegal activity with a then-22-year-old in December and January. Goad reached a plea agreement in August on four total counts, two each of attempted kidnapping and aggravated domestic battery.
On Friday, Goad was sentenced to 15.5 years in prison.
Goad had already spent time in prison for two separate incidents of aggravated assault and aggravated battery after being charged in Sedgwick County.
