Our first run of winter weather for the season is upon us.
Light snow started around 2:30 am. It is expected through the evening hours, along with occasional freezing rain through the afternoon hours. Winter weather advisories cover the entire KVOE listening area until 1 am Tuesday for Lyon and all surrounding counties based on the possibility of 1-3 inches of snow and a thin glaze of icing as well. TV-13 meteorologist Doug Meyers is expecting some slick travel until at least Monday night.
While the snow will be widespread, Meyers expects the main travel issues will be on elevated surfaces through the evening.
After the winter weather advisory ends, there’s a chance of snow, sleet and rain Tuesday and freezing rain Wednesday morning.
We’ll keep you updated on KVOE, KVOE.com and KVOE social media. Drivers can also use the redesigned www.kandrive.org for more user-friendly travel information, including road conditions, maps, cameras and email alerts on different highways.
