Travel conditions are improving quickly across the area following a miserable morning of wintry precipitation Tuesday.
As of 2 pm area highways and major roadways are experiencing seasonal driving conditions with occasional slick spots. No major accidents have been reported after several slide-offs and fender benders and a few injury accidents occurred Monday.
Winter weather advisories across the KVOE listening area were extended multiple times throughout the day Tuesday, however, all have since been allowed to expire. The current forecast is calling for chances of additional precipitation through Wednesday leading the National Weather Service to issue a flood watch for Chase and Greenwood counties from noon Wednesday to noon Thursday.
Despite the continued wet conditions, local temperatures are forecasted to improve in the coming days from the low to mid 20’s Monday and Tuesday into the mid to high 30’s Wednesday.
Temperatures will continue to steadily rise throughout the work week with highs in the mid-50s forecasted into the upcoming weekend.
