Construction has started on the Burlington Northern Santa Fe crossing in Strong City.
The Chase County Sheriff’s Office says traffic on Cottonwood Street, also known as Kansas Highway 177, will be one-lane in both directions and there will be delays through the day.
Construction will continue Wednesday as the crossing is removed and eventually replaced, forcing the closure of Cottonwood Street until the project is completed by mid-evening at the latest.
