(yahoosports/kansasstar) The Kansas City Chiefs placed defensive tackle Chris Jones on the reserve/COVID-19 list on Thursday.
The list is for players who have tested positive for COVID-19 or who have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive.
The Chiefs were one of a handful of teams on Thursday that closed their facility due to COVID-19 concerns. They announced that a team staffer had tested positive for the virus and they would conduct all meetings virtually. The organization began following NFL’s safety protocols, which includes contact tracing.
The NFL Network reported that the staffer was head athletic trainer Rick Burkholder, who also serves as the team’s infectious control officer.
The Chiefs had some good news on the Thursday injury report, as defensive end Frank Clark (knee) returned to the field after not practicing Wednesday. The Chiefs listed Clark and wide receiver Sammy Watkins (hamstring) as limited participants in Thursday’s session.
Right tackle Mitchell Schwartz (back) missed another day of practice and his status remains unclear.
