(nfl.com) Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has been selected this weeks AFC Offensive Player of the Week.
In the Chiefs blowout win over the New York Jets, Mahomes keyed the Chiefs’ offensive blitz with five touchdown passes and 416 yards passing. Mahomes was stellar throughout, completing 73.8% of his passes (31-of-42) with no interceptions and a 144.4 rating.
One of the most impressive rookies for the Kansas City Chiefs has made his first step toward returning to the field on Wednesday.
The Chiefs have designated rookie CB L’Jarius Sneed to return from injured reserve.
Sneed was placed on injured reserve after fracturing his collarbone in Week 3 against the Baltimore Ravens. The designation to return from injured reserve means that Sneed will have a 21-day practice window. During that time the team will have to decide whether to activate him to the 53-man roster or leave him on injured reserve.
Sneed started off the season hot, leading the league in interceptions (2) through the first two weeks of the 2020 season. He was injured while diving to make a play on what would have been his third pick of the year.
Anthony Sherman and Sammy Watkins were also back at practice for the Chiefs yesterday.
Frank Clark and Mitchell Schwartz did not practice.
The Chiefs host Carolina this Sunday.
