The Kansas Department of Transportation has approved bids for 25 state highway construction and maintenance projects across the state, including five within the KVOE listening area.
This includes grading and surfacing work in Wabaunsee County from two miles north of the junction of Kansas Highway 99 and I-70. That project was awarded to Ebert Construction Company Inc. and Subsidiary of Wamego for a total just over $12.6 million.
A bid was also approved for Bridges Inc. of Newton for just over $571,000. That project will see a bridge replacement in Morris County for a bridge located over the Neosho River 1.5 miles south of White City.
A second bridge replacement in Morris County was also awarded to AM Cohron and Son Inc. of Atlantic, IA, with a bid totaling just over $2.6 million. That replacement will occur over Rock Creek 7.05 miles east of the K-177 junction.
In Greenwood County, Hamm Contracting LLC of Marion, SD, was awarded a $158,248 bid for signage work on major collector roads north of U.S. 54 and west of Kansas Highway 99 spanning roughly 120 miles.
Finally, a bridge replacement will be handled by B&B Bridge Company LLC out of St. Paul, KS in Greenwood County over Homer Creek. B&B was awarded the project with a bid totaling $646,406.
Timelines for when the numerous projects will begin and end are currently pending.
