Once again Lyon County Public Health is reporting a significant increase in new COVID-19 cases.
In its daily update Monday, Public Health announced 63 new cases developed over the weekend. This pushes the overall case total to 1,544.
The active case number also saw a significant spike as 57 new active cases were added driving the active total from 205 on Friday to 262. Six recoveries were also reported.
The number of deaths remained steady once again with 41.
For clusters:
A fifth cluster category has been added for healthcare facilities with two active clusters, 17 cases and 11 active cases.
Colleges and Universities: 1 active cluster, 111 total cases, 28 active cases, 0 deaths
Schools: 3 active clusters, 41 total cases, 15 active cases, 0 deaths
Gatherings: 1 active cluster, 6 total cases, 2 active cases, 0 deaths
Long-Term Care Facility: 1 active cluster, 2 cases, 0 deaths
Statewide, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment added 5,920 new cases, 15 new deaths and 71 new hospitalizations Monday. This brings the overall total in Kansas to 103,553 with 1,181 deaths and 4,138 hospitalizations.
