Flint Hills Technical College is making adjustments to its winter schedule due to coronavirus.
On KVOE’s Tech Talk on Tuesday, President Dean Hollenbeck said the graduation ceremony has been canceled.
So far, no other schedule adjustments have been announced. Hollenbeck says the college is “staying the course” with its current education plans, thanks to now-standard mitigation items like mask usage for all on the college campuses, social distancing, health questionnaires for people coming onto campus — students, staff and general public alike — and remote classes when needed. He also says the college is researching ways to honor graduates with the commencement now canceled.
Hollenbeck says there is a small uptick in cases now. The most recent dashboard update Friday had four active cases. The college does not list its overall total.
