A recent grant is good news for area nonprofits needing personal protective equipment as the COVID-19 pandemic continues.
Emporia Community Foundation Director Becky Nurnberg explained on KVOE’s Morning Show this week:
Nurnberg got 1,000 children’s disposable face masks, 1,350 adult masks, 300 8-ounce bottles of hand sanitizer, 600 disposable temperature strips and 48 social distancing floor decals. Total price: $2,501.13, including tax.
Nonprofits in Lyon, Chase, Coffey, Greenwood, Morris, Osage, Wabaunsee and Woodson counties will have to apply for the equipment so nobody claims all the PPE in one setting. The application is online at www.geadisasterrelieffund.org.
The Disaster Relief Fund still has about $19,000 in funding available if businesses or nonprofits need assistance. It has already donated close to $200,000 for business and nonprofit needs since beginning in April. For more information, go online to www.geadisasterrelieffund.org.
