The Kansas Department of Labor is warning of another phishing attempt to get your personal and sensitive information.
Residents may get text messages, one noting an error in unemployment claims and another asking to take part in an online survey. This follows a similar attempt with different messaging from earlier this month.
The Labor Department says these messages are not legitimate and should be deleted immediately. It also reminds residents it will never ask for full Social Security information, either on the phone or through text.
Fraudulent unemployment claims have been hammering Kansas and other labor departments across the country. The Kansas Labor Department is working with law enforcement to investigate the fraudulent texts and the wider fraud effort underway now for several months. If you feel you have been victimized, use www.reportfraud.ks.gov to alert department officials.
