A power outage affected over 70 Evergy customers near the Emporia State University campus on Saturday.
The outage was reported shortly before 3 pm and affected areas west of Merchant between 13th and 15th. The outage was restored around 4 pm, about an hour earlier than expected.
Evergy says the issue was a failed fuse. There is currently no word whether the weather — mainly gusty winds — had any impact on the equipment.

Several Evergy customers near the Emporia State University campus lost power Saturday afternoon.
The outage on the west side of Merchant between 13th and 15th just west of campus was reported shortly before 3 pm. A cause is under investigation, but the outage developed during windy conditions that were commonplace areawide Saturday afternoon.
Estimated restoral time is shortly before 5 pm.
