Emporia Community Foundation is in the final preparation stages for its seventh annual Match Day on Monday.
Residents are encouraged to go online to www.emporiamatchday.com between 12 am Monday and 12 am Tuesday to donate. Residents are also encouraged to go to the Community Foundation office at 527 Commercial to donate between 9 am and 5 pm if they are not comfortable with donating online. This is the first time the Community Foundation is not using Flinthills Mall, and the ongoing coronavirus pandemic is the reason why.
Twenty-three area nonprofits and the Community Foundation’s Fund for the Future will receive funding through Match Day. Nonprofits can also take advantage of a prorated matching pool of $50,000, courtesy of the Clint Bowyer 79 Fund, Preston Trust, Reeble Endowed Fund, Trusler Foundation and Jones Testamentary Trust.
Community Foundation Director Becky Nurnberg will be on KVOE’s 7:05 am newscast with a last-minute preview.
