Wind advisories for several area counties, Lyon County included, have been adjusted again.
The first of two advisories for Lyon, Coffey and Osage counties have expired. However, the second advisory, which was set to start at 7 pm, will now run from 8 pm to 1 am Sunday. Wabaunsee County, which had been put into a separate evening advisory, has now been lumped in with Lyon, Coffey and Osage counties.
The other three area counties see no change in their advisories at this time. Morris County is in an advisory from 5-11 pm. Chase and Greenwood counties are in an advisory until midnight Sunday, extending that advisory past the original 9 pm end time.
11:15 am Saturday: Wind advisories adjusted for Lyon, surrounding counties into early Sunday
Windy conditions are expected now until early Sunday across the KVOE listening area.
The National Weather Service has adjusted the set of wind advisories issued early Saturday, and several counties — Lyon, Coffey and Osage — essentially now have a split shift, with an advisory underway now through 4 pm and a second advisory effective from 7 pm Saturday until 1 am Sunday. Morris County, meanwhile, goes into a wind advisory at 5 pm as originally scheduled but the advisory extends to 11 pm instead of 8 pm. Wabaunsee County, which had been with Lyon, Coffey and Osage counties from 7-9 pm, is in a new advisory from 7-11 pm Saturday.
Chase and Greenwood counties continue in an advisory until 9 pm Saturday as originally announced.
Winds will be steadily out of the west-northwest at 20-30 pm. Gusts of 50 mph are now expected areawide, especially from late afternoon through the late-night hours. Power outages, downed tree limbs, scattered unsecured objects and difficult driving conditions for high-profile vehicles are all potential issues until winds die down. The fire danger is also very high, so outdoor burning is strongly discouraged.

Windy conditions will be in place for most of Saturday.
Several wind advisories are up for the KVOE listening area:
*Lyon, Coffey, Osage and Wabaunsee counties are in an advisory from 7-9 pm
*Chase and Greenwood counties are in an advisory from 11 am to 9 pm
*Morris County is in an advisory from 5-8 pm.
Conditions will be breezy Saturday morning with winds out of the south as high as 25 mph. As winds shift to the west by afternoon, winds will pick up and could get as high as 50 mph.
